Upenn tutoring program

Philadelphia—a historic city and vibrant cultural center—infuses Penn with the energy of urban life. Students, faculty, and staff enjoy cultural offerings that include museums and galleries, theater, dance, music, historical landmarks, and the cuisine of renowned chefs.

Penn seeks to promote safe neighborhoods, attract and support area businesses, encourage homeownership, and improve public education. The Netter Center for Community Partnerships oversees a powerful array of projects and programs, with multiple initiatives to improve West Philadelphia education, including developing early childhood reading and math skills, raising interest in science, and bridging the digital divide.

Other programs include Community Arts Partnership, which place an artist-in-residence in the West Philadelphia schools, supports after-school programs, and fund a Penn-West Philadelphia arts exchange called the Foundation.

Earn academic credit from the University of Pennsylvania Young Scholars Program students are evaluated by the same academic standards and procedures as Penn undergraduates. Young Scholars Program tuition During the fall and spring semesters , students attending City of Philadelphia public and charter schools are eligible for tuition-free participation in the program.

Penn takes very seriously the safety of every student and security of all areas of campus. We have been ranked first for safety in the Higher Education Sector by Security Magazine for seven straight years. Housing, learning, way-finding, and transportation services are available. Students who have questions about courses or life on campus are encouraged to seek guidance from our staff of advisors. Students have access to a wealth of advising resources, including a pre-major advisor, faculty within their major, and advisors that work with their respective undergraduate schools.
